The IDMR is still busy as ever, and I'm trying to get the site finished up. Work has been eating up a lot of my time, but I don't make the cash flow, so I'm not going to complain too much.
I know it's been a little while since my last report, but the fact that very few of us are doing anything leave little for me to report on. Most notably, Branet, Mitchell, and Farmer are the only officers that have been participating in OS consistantly, and Branet has been participating as both Army and Navy.
Other than that, I'm sad to say there's very little activity again, even with OS.

"Looks like the dust storm is clearing!" Mitchell reported in from his position, cut off from the main group of stormtroopers.
A giant windstorm had come up in the area where the army had landed on Geonosis, and it had lasted quite a while. The whole group had been pinned down seriously for the whole time. Mitchell's scout party had taken shelter in a cave, since they weren't able to make it back to base camp.
The bulk of the storm had moved off, at least according to Mitchell's scanners. Soon they would be heading back out, to try to take the pirate world. The pirate stronghold was going to be a tough nut to crack after all. A successful capture could end the pirate role in the whole campaign, leaving the Empire free to crush the Rebels!
But, as General Jansen kept saying: It would not be easy. **
We've been assigned an After-Action Report for the assault on Geonosis. The GB mission I was working on seems to be creating problems, possibly due to the Clone Campagns expansion I have installed.

Lots of stuff happening in the past week; promotions, medals, cadet placements, and no AWOLs. I like this I was going to wait until next week so I can get back on track with OS and lining up the weeks correctly, but too much has happened for me to do that.
IDMR work is progressing slowly, as I've started converting my C# programs down to C++. Kinda slow, but I'll get there eventually.

Lance Corporal Nexant surveyed the Imperial Base. Here on Geonosis, the Army had been in a pitched battle with the pirates. This was their stronghold and their home base. It was unsurprising that they were holding onto it so tightly. The Empire had a beach head now on this blasted world, but it was constantly in danger. They had elected to keep pressing on and on, but had been held back by sandstorms. So now they were gearing up. Pirate forces were just above the next ridge, and mobilizing fast. The survivors of the base that had been demolished in order to put up the Imperial facilities had certainly warned the pirates about the incoming troops... **

Jagged Fel surveyed the territory with his macrobinoculars. In the distance he could make out cliffs and very little indigenous life. Such was normal for Geonosis.

The latest scout reports showed that some pirates had broken away from the main group, evidently frustrated with the pirate "leadership". No doubt they would be in the field already, making a lot of trouble for both the Empire and te remaining pirates.

If Jansen's assessments of the pirates were correct, there wouldn't be many left after this. Perhaps only those in space, which the Navy would clean up before long. Then the Imperial Army would be free to liberate planets from the Rebels...

Jagged descended from the rock and picked up some of his heavier equipment. No time to waste...

I thought I needed to flesh out my report format a little, because I finally realized I really didn't state much in my reports. Sure, I complain about what I don't hear, but now I'm going to start focusing on what is actually happening within the Brigade, and not just if I heard anything from the Companies. (okay, and Branet's reports were longer than mine )
Thanks to VA Fel we finally have a GB mission for OS, so I expect all of you who have it to complete and submit your files for this round. We haven't had much to do for a couple rounds due to techinical errors and just the lack of time, but now's our chance to get moving again.
Also a thing to consider; if you complete the GB mission, why not write up an After Action Report about it? You have the full mission sitting in front of you, and if you recorded the game (as you should be) you can replay it and take notes if you have to so you can write your report. It's almost free OS points. Not only do you get the mission points, but extra points for writing fiction as well. And even if you don't have GB, you know the general background of the mission, you have the paragraph in the OS Chapter assignment, write up what you thought happened.
With the creation of the AAE, some of you now have a few extra shinies for your medal rack. Yet another way you can be active and earn yourself awards is to complete various exams offered by the Academy (you can even take the Navy Officer exam. ewww ). But I'd recommend that all Army officers take the Army Officer Exam and the Company Leadership Exam. Both are required for command positions, so make it easier on yourself and take them now
Overall, keep up the good work. The Army's presence on the MBs has increased significantly, although that's bringing about the revival of long dead topics, and there's even a couple that've gotten on IRC. Keep recruiting, more members are always welcome.

General Jansen walked through the ashes of the Pirate stronghold. The Empire had smashed the Pirate forces, and now all that remained were scattered groups. But the Imperial Army would npt need to deal with them: Infighting would consume them quickly. The main work of the Army on Geonosis was done. A small force would stay behind to keep things under control, but that would be all.
For now, the Army was going to take some well deserved time off. Soon it would be time to go up against the Rebels again...

It doesn't take that long to do a match.

General Jansen picked through the shuttle carefully. This had been GA Daemon's. And now it was a twisted wreck.
Army officers had already carried away most every object in the shuttle, but there was one the General was looking at personally. Major Mitchell had brought it to him, not knowing what it was. But Jansen recognized it right away: It was a holocron.
Jansen had seen one, and only one, in his youth. But it had made a lasting impression, and now he had one in his hands again. Well - a part of one. It was obvious what would need to happen: They'd have to get the rest of the pieces.
A slicer worked on the shuttle's memory core, trying to find the travel logs and decrypt them. Perhaps Daemon's flight path would prove helpful in finding where he was headed. And where the rest of it might be.
What the General couldn't tell was whether or not it had been intentionally split up or shattered... Time would certainly tell.
In order to handle the holocron, they'd need someone special. Jansen knew of someone locked up by the Empire... someone who had received some training as one of the Emperor's Hands... but he was notoriously... unstable.
This did not sit well with the General. This man would be difficult to handle, even under the best of circumstances. And if he was to escape, who knew where he might end up.
Still... there was nobody else in the Empire who would be able to handle the holocron. Jansen hoped that this wouldn't turn out as badly as he thought it would.

From behind two forcefields, Jansen faced down the caged dark figure. "Who are you?" He asked, knowing full well what the answer would be.
The dark figure wasted no time in replying. His voice seemed somehow as dark as the rest of him. The voice was deep, resonant, and very bitter. "I am the sole descendent of the fire and the rage."
"I've got a task for you."
The figure spat. "Why should I help you?"
"Because I know what you want. Because I can take you to a place where you can hunt. Away from all of the rest of us."
"On a barren world? I'd rather not."
"On a world full of life." Jansen was firm. "Away from humans and like species. An untouched forest world."
"How do I know this isn't a trick?"
"The alternative is to rot here forever."
The figure stood up. He towered over even Jansen, who was no small figure himself. "Let's get this over with."

I'd like to see more activity for OS still, I know we've been without a GB mission for a couple chapters, but remember that fiction and graphics are always welcomed.
Two new officers have joined since the last report, and the only departures were to 2nd Brigade. Get out and recruit your friends, find people online, do whatever you can think of to increase our ranks!

Jansen stared at the dark figure once agian. Now he was loose on a world, albeit uninhabited. A half-dozen troopers kept watch on him, but Jansen knew that even two dozen of them wouldn't be able to stop the dark one if he wanted to escape or fight.
But this man had honour once. The General hoped that he still did. It might be the only thing preventing him from trying to kill them all.
Jansen checked his scanners again. The holocron fragment wasn't far away, but... it was moving! Somebody else had picked it up! "Major Mitchell, I need a scout report, NOW." Jansen was not amused.
"Was just about to call you, sir. Rebels are here. I think they followed us..."
"And how did they get the holocron piece before us?"
"Either they were looking for it, sir, or dumb luck," Mitchell hoped it was the latter.
"For our sakes, we had better hope it's dumb luck. Otherwise they've probably got a head start on collecting pieces of it." Jagged Fel gave his opinion.
"Well, no matter - we had better get moving. Hop to it, gentlemen. The holocron isn't going to put itself together."
"Aye, sir." Mitchell replied, followed by an identical reply from Jagged.
Jansen walked towards his troopers keeping watch on the former Emperor's Hand... Their leader approached the General and saluted. "Sir, what can we help with?"
Jansen returned the salute. "You can't imagine how important it is to keep your eyes on him. He's more dangerous than any of us may yet realize."

Couple AWOLs, and few more I still need to take care of. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you be visible in order to be in the GE. Those of you that don't use instant messengers, don't get on the MBs, have to at least email someone to let us know you're there. Many people sign up, take the five minutes to graduate, then dissappear, hence the majority of AWOLs. I usually send warnings before you get canned, but *please* warn us if you need some leave time.

No, I just automatically did it out of habit. It's been almost a year and a half since I shared a rank level with anyone within the Army/Legion, and that was as a Detachment Commander (Legion equiv to Company CO). I'm still trying to get used to this aspect of I'm not doing everything anymore
