What one mistake? I've read the blasted thing so many times I don't even read it anymore, so I tend to miss things.

Seriously, though, when you notice a mistake or typo in an exam or on the Academy website, please let me know ASAP so I can get something done about it.

Yeah. I thought I said something but I may have forgotten. It's the medal question and it doesn't agree with the Medal's guide.

Honestly, I should just bring in JO and BF2 and install them on the computer in there. You, me, and Baker spend more time on the GE message boards then anyone else spends doing real unit work.

Q8 - 3 MARKs: According to the Official Guide to Medals & Awards, the only 4 medals a Company COs can award are...

Company COs can award 4 medals. I find it shocking that you don't know what medals you can/cannot award

It does agree, but it's muddy, since things used to be a lot easier before the Army came along and mucked everything up. No offense.

I'm thinking of changing the question to just list 3 medals, since that gives some room for play and the question's only worth 3 points anyway.

The 4 are, btw:

MoM
BS
IVC
IVM

I think the confusion comes about because BS are awarded by Lieutenant Commanders/Majors and above, and those ranks aren't usually Squad or CO Leaders. However, as the Officers' Manual says:

Within the Imperial Navy, the rank of Lt. Commander (LC) holds two uses.

The first usage is used for senior lieutenants who demonstrate outstanding performance in squadron leadership. In this instance, the duties and responsibilites remain the same as that of a Lieutenant.

The second is the introductory rank afforded to first officers onboard "smaller-scale" capital ships (those with fighter capacities of less than one full wing (6 squadrons/72 pilots)).

Now, I have a mail somwehere saying that the same goes for Major, but I guess that isn't reflected in the Officer's Manual. I'll either get that cleared up and added to the Manual, or knock the question down to 3 medals.

By the way, the ICC is a common choice for the 4th medal, but that's not correct, as the OGMA states that:

This medal is awarded under special circumstances and at the discretion of the Supreme Commander to officers who have distinguished themselves in live (multiplayer) combat.

Since the Supreme Commander gets discretion, COs aren't the ones that awatd it (though they could suggest it be awarded, I suppose.)

This is just to let you all know that, as the application time is now ended, I am no longer accepting applications for Prefect. I am finishing up going through all of the applicants, and I will announce my decision on Sunday.

It's ended up being a lot harder than I thought, as all applicants had very good qualifications. There was a good mix of old and new faces, and now I have to decide whether I want to go with somebody who is highly skilled and has had Academy experience, or somebody who is highly skilled and hasn't, thus potentially bringing a whole new spin on things with him.

I know everyone always says that all applicants were qualified, blah blah blah, but I really mean it - I'm having a very tough time deciding who I think would be the best choice and with whom I could best work to streamline Academy operations.

Thank you all very much for your applications, and blast you all for being so talented.
