Character Biography

[Crenton]

Hi again. I wrote a short biography for my character, and I'm wondering what you guys think.


Crenton was born and raised in a small settlement on the barren rock know as Korriban. Living in such a desolate environment, he dreamed of getting off Korriban and seeing what the galaxy had to offer. When he was seventeen, 6 years after the Battle of Endor, he joined the crew of the freighter Muckraker.
During his time on the freighter, Crenton saw first hand what a lawless place the galaxy had become since the death of Palpatine. Pirates now infested the space lanes, seizing and destroying whatever cargo ships were unfortunate enough to catch their attention. The crew of the Muckraker had several close calls of their own, once even having to make a blind hyperspace jump into the Unknown Regions to avoid capture. However, Crenton's luck was about to run out. A year after he had come aboard the Muckraker, it was boarded by a small band of pirates. The freighter's crew prepared to defend their ship. During the struggle Crenton lost his left eye to a piece of shrapnel. His body rejected the cybernetic replacement, and Crenton was forced to cover his disfigurement with a simple eye patch. Pirates, however, were only the tip of the iceberg. Crisis after crisis hit the "New Republic", and time after time the rebel government was stalled debating the best way to handle the situation. Crenton, never one to get involved with politics, couldn't help but wish for a strong central government, a government ruled by one voice, a government that would bring order back to the galaxy. He found it in the Empire. Being a neutral trader the captain of the Muckraker took jobs from both sides in the conflict. Crenton spent his time in Imperial space in cantinas, talking with the citizens of the Empire. The majority of the people said the same thing when he asked them for their thoughts on the Empire. They told him the Empire gives them political and economical stability and a general feeling of safety.
Shortly after the Muckraker returned from Imperial space, its crew was hired to haul cargo to remote colonies located at the edge of the galaxy. As they approached the colony, they received no transmissions from the planet. Setting down on the surface, the Muckraker's crew found the colony completely destroyed. The few survivors they found told them that their sensors picked up a pirate fleet as soon as it dropped out of hyperspace, but were unable to mount an effective resistance. Crenton decided that enough was enough. He wasn't going to stand on the sidelines and watch the galaxy tear itself apart. It was at this point, three years after he left Korriban, he said his goodbyes to the crew of Muckraker and boarded a transport headed towards Imperial space. Once there, he wasted no time enlisting in the Imperial Navy.
