SW Rebellion

speaking of Rebellion in the Army forum...of yall that have it is it a common problem for the game to just have a error and shut off mines done it as long as ive had it on all computers and it annoys me and is there a fix for it?

Occasionally it happens. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about this problem beyond installing all the updates and making sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the program. If you're running Windows 2000, you can expect more problems that you would ordinarily get from other operating systems, as LucasArts decided not to support it for some odd reason.

my language is english and my first computer was above the minimum and my new computer is liek 5 times above the minimum and one had win 98 and then later XP professional as does this one

He's just asking because apparently, punctuation or capitalization of at least the first letter in a sentence (to make it more understandable :P), is obviously NOT part of your first language. ;P

oh that im from cajun land south louisiana New Orleans area where no once can form correct grammatical structures. and Louisiana is you know at the bottom of education in the United States and Orleans parish is the bottom of that. But its all ok because I went to private school so I can do it I just do not feel like it because I do not see the point of creating a correct grammatical structure to say SW Rebellion is screwing up.

well in my school distrect here in WI, we HAVE to capitlize at school, but every one is so used to the internet "slang" that no one even tiries in computer classes :-p

we have to do it to I mean last thing in English was a 21 page paper I did and i got a 97 out of 100 measured that way on it. So it is not like I do not know how to do it. I just dont feel like it when there isnt a apparent need.

Ummm, we write all in proper English here in Canada. Even computer classes.

Especially Computer classes, mostly due to the fact that you cannot have grammar or spelling errors in computer code and still expect it to work.

Though I understand most people's tendency to the use Internet slang and abbreviations, it is considered a sign of respect to the other GE members to make sure your Message Board posts contain a minimum amount of errors. This not only allows you to get your point across in a clear and concise way, but it also helps the members who do not speak English as their primary language understand what you are trying to say. This is of course by no means a solid rule that you must abide by, merely a simple courtesy to the other members of this Message Board.

Hehe, yeah Rebellion is a good game but of course here its called Supremacy, I don't have any problems running it on XP so I don't know about your problem.

As I've had so much experience with.

But Captain Wedge does have a point. One should always attempt to write as clear and clean as possible. If nothing else, it can be a distinct sign of maturity.

I never understood that. Rebliion is called Rebellion in America and Germany and a whole bunch of other countries that don't speak English, but they had to "translate" it to Supremacy for the brits. Crazy peoples.

I remember Rebellion fondly. I think I'll get my copy mailed to me so that I can be lazy and not have to think too hard while playing Vort's German version. Anyone interested in a game in a few weeks?

Sure, why not? I'm planning to order a copy of LucasArts pretty soon. Hopefully it'll run on Windows 2000. If not, well I'm planning to format my Hard Drive and start over today, perhaps I'll make a partition so I can run Windows 98 and all the games that only run on it.
