New Idea For the Army

I assume that I am one of those two people who are not officers but still active?
If so, it wouldnÂ´t hurt to reduce the number of active non-officers by promoting the actvie ones to XOÂ´s.

I see you missed the point which I was trying to make, which is that there's no point having a CO and XO when there aren't any other active members in the unit.

COs and XOs are supposed to work on keeping their unit active by creating activities for them and engaging with them, whether it be regular conversations or gaming matches. This sets a good example and fosters activity all around. Too bad practice isn't in line with the theory...

Anyway, the CO should be doing the above, which is easy enough with the five or eight members most Companies have. The XO is supposed to assist the CO in this(Although XOs aren't always strictly necessary). Now, just tell me how they're meant to do that when every member worth more than a bag of dead meat is bounced up to their level, thereby depriving them of members to work with?

How would you feel if you were active and everything but never got promoted simply because your CO needed somebody to push around?

ItÂ´s a common principe that says that you CO/COs decide about your promotion, and not you. Never loose hope.

Take Corporal Shadow for example. He was a PFC for over 8 months, but he stayed active and finally got a promotion. So be patient.

So Burton, I have to ask.
If you are a PFC in a company that dosenÂ´t need a XO but you are still very active and deserve a promotion, what should happen to you?

Just follow the terms of address as stated in the OfficerÂ´s Manual and everything is allright. Stay friendly and professional.

I might be a bit late, but Colonel Burton, dose make a good point in the Co and XO's with out any active mebers the Co and XO would have nothing to do, so Appo just listen to your Co and hope some people become active again.

Anyway, itÂ´s not your fault, nor anybodyÂ´s else.
IÂ´ll just keep it up hope for the best.
