And, of course, any work you do, I will probably comment on it long after it's done and you think you don't have to look at it any more. Ask LF if you don't believe me. :P

Psst. Our club's entire existence is EU. Hell, according to George's vision of Star Wars, we wouldn't even exist. I base this arguments on two main points:

First, the majority of positions our characters hold were, up until the Battle of Endor, held by clones. This position can be backed up by several subpoints.

First of all, during the prequels, we see a progression of Clone Trooper uniforms, up to what is extremely close to Stormtrooper armor. When taken in conjecture with the pre-prequel hints that Stormtroopers are rumored to be clones[1], this is almost certainly the case. Also, in Episode 3, we see that New Republic pilots are clones, and we see a progession toward TIE-esque ships in that same movie. Since Palpatine begets the Empire, and all the clones are loyal to him, it is likely he retains them through-out his reign. Furthermore, there never any mention of the clone facility on Kamino being destroyed in the movies, and since all but four people[2] who new about it were killed, there's no evidence that Palpatine would stop making clones for his use.

Secondly, at the end of ROTJ, we see massive celebration of the Empire's defeat on Coruscant, the Empire's main stronghold and capital. If that kind of dissent is tolerated, it must mean a downfall of the empire much quicker than that which is portrayed in the novels.

[1] The Official Guide to Characters
[2] Yoda, Kenobi, Vader, Palpatine

Now, there's one way to refute this argument, so let's see if anyone can find it. It's late, and I'm tired, so I'll make my actual main point later on.

After seeing Episodes I through III, I have to agree. Why would the Emperor throw away a perfectly good clone army?

However, the stormtroopers in Episodes IV through VI most definitely vary in height, which would suggest they're not clones. We don't see enough of the TIE Pilots to be able to draw the same conclusions about them.

The new end of ROTJ does not exist in my universe. Stupid new ewok song... *grumble* :P

In BF II campaign also says that the clone troopers were re-organized to the Stormtroopers, and that it took some time till new recruits were in.

There's actually an explaination for the shift from clones to stormtroopers. At the end of the Clone Wars, the fresh clones were being grown much quicker than the clones who were used at the time of Geonosis.

Zahn explained that when clones are grown fast, they're only good for a short time before they go crazy. Assume that the slower-grown clones simply took longer to go crazy and in the long run, clone armies would useless.

What Palpatine needed was a permanent military presence across the galaxy to enforce his will. These presences were to last years, even decades. I'd estimate that a normal recruit's training costs more than it does to grow a clone and mind-imprint knowledge, but if a non-clone lasts for twenty or even forty years and a clone lasts for five years, it's obvious that nonclones win over clones.

As for the massive celebration at the end of ROTJ, I've read someone's hypothesis that it's snapshots from future Rebel campaigns. Certainly, the people of Coruscant celebrated when the Rebel Alliance arrived to wrestle Isard's grip away and become the New Republic. The celebrations would be more massive, in theory, if they had to keep the happiness of Palpatine's death repressed for years... and there's no evidence that it was Coruscant. There are EU references to other city-planets or planets with huge metropolises. Nar Shaddaa and Kidriff 5 are examples.

But all of those sources are EU, and Kenseu's talking canon-only. Only the movies are canon.

Which means, of course, that Zahn's masterpieces aren't official, whereas The Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage and Ewoks: the Battle for Endor are. The universe can be so cruel sometimes. :P

Aren't the Ewok movies EU? Or did Lucas actually make them?

Crap. It seems he was the Executive Producer on all of them. Which brings me to my point:

We need a list of officially recognized Star Wars material; movies (and scenes), books, games. Hell, we should have an official history that we write out, denoting exactly what material we want in our universe.

I hereby decree in the eyes all Star Wars fans that the so called "Ewok Movies" are merely Rebel propoganda and not to be taken seriously. Also, in my opinion :P, the Zhan books are canon, no matter what anyone says. For it was he who wrote of Thrawn that named the the capital planet Coruscant, even Lucas said so in at least one interview. :)
