I have an idea that could change the Imperial Army, and could be very help full. It is of course up to the Commander of the Army and the Supreme Commander if this idea goes through, but I have posted this to see the feed back I get.
The idea is to add a few new position into the army’s command structure, along with a few new ranks. Now this idea has come to me through many hours, days and even weeks of research and brainstorming. I have researched the Imperial Databases, looking back into the Early times of the Army, and the Stormtrooper Legion, also I have look into the real-life army’s of the world.
New Ranks:
Sergeant First Class
Sergeant Major
Sergeant Major of the Army or Command Sergeant Major
New Positions:
Company First Sergeant
Brigade First Sergeant
Sergeant Major of the Army
Details on the New Ranks an Positions
The Information on the ranks and position is what will be shown in the GE:ER’s Officer Manual, if the ranks and position are accepted. I will show them as if they where part of the Manual with out the RIP (if the ranks are accepted i will send the RIP's to the right people). The Position I will show as if there where in the Manual but with ID-Lines.

Hold the rank of Sergeant Major of the Army.

Also for promotion authority, the SMA can promote up to SSG. The SMA sends the promotion notice to the COA and MAA.
When it comes to Reporting In and Reports, Trooper now have to report in to their Company CO and Company 1SG. Troopers must have a detailed list of what they have done for the 1SG. The Company 1SG sends a private report to the BRG-1SG, who send his report to the SMA ,who then makes a Completely detailed report on the activities of all the Troopers within the Army, usually is a Bi-Weekly report.

Well the Co and XO command the company the 1SG mentors the Junior Officer and help them with combat, exams and earning a comission.

If you notcied, i had some trouble with the Rank for the position of Sergeant Major of the Army, in real life the position and rank is the same but i thought it could be the same or be called Command Sergeant Major...Also to fully Answer your question Appo, The Ranks from LCP - SSG would be a little easier to achive, but for SFC-SMA it would requrier some command experiance and have a very good knowleged of the Army. Plus those who earn the promotion to SFC and up must choose to stay or become a NCO well helping others become CO's or higher ranks. And also that puts the 1SG third in command of a company. Any other questions?

Not to rain on your parade, but we simply don't have the membership to go ahead with something like this. Currently, the Army has a total of 45 "active" members, twelve of which are currently at XO or higher, with a total of seven empty and open CO/XO spots. Your proposal would add nine superior spots to the Army in total. Assuming we don't gain any new members, the numbers become 21 commanders to 24 regular members.
A certain cliché about chiefs and indians come to mind. Because at a glance, at least half of our PFCs through SSGs are just plain inactive. Honestly, it'd be better to come up with an idea to increase membership and activity.
