Who came up with all these different Mon Cal ships and since when are they so much larger than Imp Stars? Last time I checked it was LESS than an Imp Star - and no way was Home one *double* the size of an Imp Star!

First off, it's not like there's a MonCal contructions standard, each one's supposedly custom. As for the sizes, I'd like to know where they got their references, since I'm pretty sure some of those aren't right.

I know they are different in size - and looks, too. And it's not the fact that the numbers are wrong - the comparision is totally wrong. The SSD to ISD ration is about what we see in the movies and makes sense. 17km vs 1,6km (or 10 miles vs 1 mile). But the Mon Cal was always smaller than the VSD and even if their flag ship was larger than an ISD, what I do not believe, it wasn't THAT much larger. The ISD and SSD were always said to be "the biggest ships in the Galaxy". And afterall the Mon Cal ships were cruise liners and exploration ships when they were build and who builds exploration ships of THAT size?

Yes they did, they were called "Star Wars", though we should probably fire the director for not telling it from the Imperial point of view.

Seriously, though, you get to see both the ISD and SSD fairly close together in both "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi", and Vort's comment is the basic standard size comparison between the two calsses of ships. I also agree that the size and length of the Mon Calimari cruisers are grossly overstated in this chart. Every Spec sheet I've ever seen about Mon Cal cruisers confirms that they were generally in between an ISD and a VSD length wise, but hardly any of them ever came close to being the size of an ISD.

And La Forge is right, Tif is a nasty format for these. Has anyone seen a copy in Jpeg, Bitmap, or GIF?

I've got a 2000x2000 GIF, 789KB. No place to update it, though, but I'll see if I can find a link..
