Long Service Medal update

Officers of the Empire:

The Long Service Medal just underwent an update regarding how it is calculated... this will not affect newer officers, but those who have been in the Reserves/been inactive in the past should take note.

The LSM is now calculated by parsing your service record! Therefore, if you're service record is incomplete (as is the case for some officers, such as CD Vortagh, etc), your LSM might not show the correct stripe count.

This is because the server now runs through each record, determines whether the officer was still active after that record was entered, compiles all the periods of time where the officer was active, and then addes them to get the final number of years (rounded down). Therefore, if your record is not complete, you may see an incorrect number for a few days to a few weeks after/before you should have recieved it: it depends on how far off your record is.

But for you new people, you have nothing to worry about, so enjoy.

EDIT: To those who are seeing a loss of strips on your LSM, please, please, before mailing me, add up the number of months from your enlistment date and subtract from that all time in the RES and/or being inactive. Only then, if your LSM does not equal the floor(months/12) then should you mail me. If it does, then that's what you really have earned...

I've had more than 4 years of continuous service, and it gives me an [LSM-3S].

4 years 4 months since enlistment = (4*12) + 4 = 52, and 52 / 12 = 4.33.

Alright, hopefully I fixed it. There was a slight error in the logic the script was using; that has been changed. Also, the script now also tests to see if your current ID Line is an active one, and if it is, takes the current date and subtracts the date from the current ID Line, then adds that amount of time to the total to be divided into years.

Let me know if there are issues because of this. Just keep posting.
