Possible LOA

Post by RES Mitchell »

For those who don't know, I live in South Florida, currently in the crosshairs of Wilma. If I am not answering e-mails or visiting the MBs and what not throught this week, you know why.

Well, it's a little before noon local time, and while it's still pretty windy, the sun is out. The storm hit about 100 miles (60-some km) south of Sarasota (where I live), in a small town called Naples, where I-75 becomes Alligator Alley, the main route across the Sunshine State.

Keep the more-affected folks in your thoughts and prayers. It could be a long time before those affected here and in Mexico and Cuba can get back to normal life.

And while you are at it, all of you should think about what *you* can do, to make sure that Hurricanes like these do not happen too often. Yes, you can do something! Hurricanes like these were very rare, until recently. Makes you think, eh?

Telling your parents (or yourself) to stop using a car that drinks gazoline like I drink Dr Pepper and writing to your president to finally get that Kyoto Protocoll done are a couple of ideas.
Bugging your Government about stuff like this is always a good idea. I do it, too.

It won't help overnight, it won't help in a few years - but at least it might help your children to grow up in a state where these hurricanes are back to a "every once in a while" thing and not a "10 a season" thing as it will be very soon.

Yeah, the Kyoto protocol around here would be nice. I frankly don't see why we don't enforce it. And as for cars, I will never touch anything remotely SUV/truck-like. How dumb can you be? ;)

or if you drive a SUV like I do make sure it is good repair so it doesn't use more gas then it has to, it will actually save more $ if it is in good repair as it gets better milage.

Hello Corporal! :)

I had to change my driving habits, I'm driving slower now. I'm doing 90 kilometers per day and the Fuel is becoming more and more expensive each day.

Which is good for the environment too, in a way. :D

I hope that I am not the only Teenage Republicans club Prez in America who will buy a hybrid car the first chance he gets after college. As for bugging George, he's made his own mess already. The last thing he needs is for simps like me to bother him about his self-created problems...

If hybrids were cheaper, I'd get one after my current car dies (used, of course :P )

Biking everywhere works too... Unless I've eaten Glendon's cookies. Then I'm about as bad as an SUV

I thought I warned you about them... I really can't be acountable for his error, can I? Anyways... I would want a hybrid but my parents are the ones getting me a car so I don't have much of a choice (used as well).
