Announcement from the Office of the Procurator
Greetings my Imperial Comrades,
As per my position as Procurator of Justice, and in my role of presiding over the Emperor's Court, I have hereby commissioned this Holonet site to help collect all proceedings of the Emperor's Court, and to help make the Court that much more accesible to all members of his majesties Empire.
http://www.compton-nz.net/procurator
It is not a site designed to awe you with it's amazing php menus, nor it's flash graphics, rather, just a simple site to allow you to learn more about the Court, and to keep track of further developments.
Please feel free to respond here with comments and criticisms of the site. My personal thanks go out to Solidis for his creation and supply of the images used in the site.

Fortunately given the lack of cases that come before the Emperor's Court, there is little need for permenant Lawyers within the GE. However, I believe that should one end up infront of the Court, one can appoint someone to be their lawyer.

What generally happens, however, is that the accused represents him or herself... but that does not preclude the possibility of you representing them, if they so desire.

Heh, how many have come before the court before? There was RayCav, something about 5-6 members of Beta Squadron, and a few others I think I remember people talking about, back in day.

Whitten, McCain, Strait, RayCav are but a few of the names that have had justice dispensed from the Emperor's Court... well I think Strait did, though I don't really remember for sure on that.
I think Daemon at one stage passed down something on Donitz as well, though I'm not 100% sure on that either.

These are the sorts of things I remember.
McCain's case never went before the Emperor's Court. He was formally charged, but it never went anywhere because of the Empire Reborn project.
RayCav was formally charged (he was my superior at the time; it was not pretty), but went "AWOL" and never actually had his trial (nor was he formally sentenced). That said, it's approximately equivalent to having expelled him from the GE, since he's never tried to come back, nor would I say he is likely to.
Donitz was given a "dishonourable discharge" by Daemon. That related to a post on the IS.net which you may have seen.

As far as I remember, no trial was ever held per se. Whitten was just expelled without any trial, Strait was reprimanded or something, Stolle was banned from official communication channels for a week (after, surprisingly, no real trial), and as others already stated, neither RayCav's nor McCain's cases ever went to court.
One thing I remember was the case against Dupuy (now Nebel), who was accused of commanding a squadron of his clones. He was deemed not guilty due to lack of evidence. This was no official trial either, though - people sent things they *thought* to be evidence to Daemon and eventually, he said "Nah, it's alright."
As a side note, whenever there was a decision to make, it was Daemon who did it. Not the Procurator of Justice. So, in other words, the position of PoJ and the imperial court are the most useless things ever to be created in the GE. Well, second only to the Imperial Racing League and the ISB.
My two cents on the matter. Oh and, Bugman - use sans serif fonts on our page. Also, I might (<- that's a might with a capital M) look into creating an alternative banner for ya. I dunno, but Vader was a) never the PoJ is b) a traitor to the imperial cause and is c) very, very dead. :P

Exactly my point, Admiral - the PoJ was not around (for obvious reasons) before that position was created and neither was he around (= did any work) after the position was created. Conclusion: The position is not necessary.
See, I do realize that people who have served in the GE and then retire are granted honorary positions, but please - for sanity's sake - don't pretend that these positions are in any way functional.
The ISB was created because the first guy willing to join the GE (Jupant) didn't have any of the games that were used in the beginning. Functional? Don't try to kid me. Braxant sector Moff? Same guy, same reason. Procurator of Justice? Rhys, a former Senior Fleet Officer returning for some final imperial glory. A third example was Calorn's position as flag officer aboard the Vigilant - did we ever see him do anything? Nope. Why was he not removed? Because he joined and did some things when the GE was still young.
None of the above mentioned things is really much of a bad thing. However, it should be made clear that person X is not shoved onto the reserves roster, but instead gets *honorary* title/position/whatever because of accomplishments Y and Z. It's a bit difficult to explain why someone gets a functional job when no one ever sees him do more work than your average name-on-the-roster (= Ensign). People get jealous quickly ("High rank and no work" *grmbl*).
So, honorary positions for outstanding club members - yes; pseudo-functional positions with no purpose and, as such, insulting the members' intelligence - no.
Oh my... yet another rant. Stop me before I start talking about the "good old days"... :P
