Sentinel-Class Landing Craft #5
"30 seconds to the LZ!" shouted the Sentinel-Class craft's pilot.
I didn't sign up to be shuttled around in a barge, thought CPL Thot Ghor, a relative newcomer to the Imperial Army. After completing his Academy courses, passing 3 exams, and joining Hornet Company, he thought that his promotion to Corporal had meant he wouldn't have to be in harms way to be promoted. Now, however, the Chimera and several other support ships had been despatched to Mygeeto, home of a Imperial Reasearch lab. The planets population, incited by New Republic agents, had surrounded the facility. Now, Thot Ghor and the rest of the 1st Brigade were being dispatched to an area 3 klicks from the facility. They were to march to it, and at the same time put down the revolt.
"Why didn't they just pulverize the Rebels from orbit?" asked a trooper from Hornet Company.
"Because the facility is too close to the Rebel main lines." replied Davin Felth. the companys CO.
"Besides," added Thot Ghor, "This way we get to earn some of the glory, which the Navy has always been so generously hogging. Don't worry. If you die, I'll take good care of your T-21."
Thot, who carried an E-11, was somewhat envious of the firepower the trooper carried.
"That's enough, you two." ordered Felth. "We have a job to do, and we have to work as a team to do it."
Farther up ahead, Thot Ghor could see the LZ through a viewport. It was a klick long and wide. Enough to land all the infantry and the armor. The Chimera, along with the troop ships in the task force, had launched 30 Sentinel's and 10 AT-AT barges to the planet. More than enough firepower to demolish the Rebels.
"Prepare to disembark!" shouted the pilot.
"Alright, this is it boys!" said Felth.
Lets go kill some Rebs, Ghor thought.

Mygetto
The door on the craft opened. Immediately the 1st company off was hit by repeating blaster and rifle fire. The Rebs cut down half the 1st line immediately. Dragon Company was next off, and it immediately ran to the nearby structures for cover. Next off was Hornet. Thot Ghor dashed for a completely intact building 20 meters from the ship. Motioning the others over, he looked around the corner. There, 20 yards away, was 3 E-Web repeating blaster cannons. Thot Ghor and 3 others quickly rounded the corner and blasted all of the weapons operators. Once the company took the position, they saw a string of 10 foxholes, each with 3 Rebels in it. Thot and the others quickly grabbed hold of the cannons and swung them 'round facing the Rebels. They opened fire and obliterated the defenses.
"Let the barges know they can begin landing walkers," Davin Felth said to the communications operator.
30 minutes later, the entire brigade was in motion towards the facility. Along the way, Hornet lost 3 men. The survivors pressed on, finally reaching the facility only to find the Rebels entrenched around the perimeter. The AT-AT commander quickly saw this too, and all of the walkers annihilated the Rebel defenses. Thot Ghor and Hornet Company moved into the facility and secured it. Their work done, they returned to the fleet and headed home.
