Officers of the Empire:
Note that this fleet memo has been BCC'd directly to ALL Galactic Empire actives, so there is no need to forward it along.
No doubt many of you have kept a watch on the advent of Star Wars: Empire at War - a real-time strategy game by Lucasarts, and one of the most anticipated games of the year. Many of you have also had an opportunity to try the demo of the game released earlier this year. Imperial High Command has been doing so as well and has spent a significant amount of time evaluating the game.
It is the official policy of the Empire Reborn to introduce support for new platforms as soon as possible. This is indeed a notable occasion for the Empire, as it is the very first time that we have been able to announce support for a game *before* the game is released.
To specify, by the 16th, which is the official release date for the game, we will have the entire infrastructure in place for support of the game. Already, much of it his here.
The Imperial Officers' Manual ( http://www.empirereborn.net/erom/ ) has been updated to revision 1.60, which introduces the necessary information for EaW support.
Imperial High Command has added support on the Empire Reborn domain for
Empire at War units, known as "Support Ships". Imperial Academy signups for Empire at War, cadet graduation, and cadet placement are all fully functional. All that is left is to throw the switch to enable them on the 16th.
Imperial Navy Command Staff and Rosters have been readied for the introduction. The very first "Support Ship" to be commissioned is the Nebulon-B Frigate (FRG) Thunderbolt (http://www.empirereborn.net/unit.php?id=127 ). The Thunderbolt is attached to Systems Force 2. Normally, the crew of the Thunderbolt would report to the Captain of the Victory Star Destroyer (VSD) Striker, but since there is presently only one commissioned Empire at War unit, until there are at least two, the Thunderbolt will be reporting to the Captain and First Officer of the ISD Nemesis (CL Wedge and CM MAR, respectively).
(To help clarify what the Imperial Navy structure looks like, you may refer to the Imperial Navy Order of Battle, available at http://navy.empirereborn.net/ob.php ).
However, the most important aspect of the entire support is the person who will be spearheading the effort. This person, the leader of our first Empire at War unit, is truly key to the effort to get widespread adoption throughout the Empire. I have done some exploration of the issue, and I have indeed found an officer who is more than qualified for the job.
Returning from a long stint in the reserves, to the rank of Commander, is Former NavyFC, NavyTC, and Striker Captain - Aarkon Syrtaras! Syrtaras has an extensive and well-known service history within the Empire. Indeed, he is supremely qualified for the job on just about every level. It is a great day for the Empire to see him back in service!
We look forward to lots of recruiting for Empire at War - this is a new platform that presents us with huge opportunities. By supporting it early on, we make it possible for us to capitalize on those very opportunities. *Now* is the time for a serious EaW recruiting campaign. I wish you all good luck in searching for recruits.
If you wish to transfer into an Empire at War unit, please contact me and we can arrange your transfer as soon as possible. Let me point out that Empire at War presents possibly the best opportunity for growth that the Navy has had in years - and growth means we will need commanders for those new officers!
If you have any questions or comments regarding Empire at War, please do not hesitate to contact either myself < Fel@EmpireReborn.net > or Commander Syrtaras < Syrtaras@freenet.de >.
Once again, happy recruiting!
