Looking on the origins also "Immortal" would be reserved by the royal guard;
and imperial would be too generalised.

Adamant is reserved for the VSD, and I think Knight is also exclosed as we have/had a VSD with this name.

But what this ever the question?

-I see "Immortal" nowhere at the royal gard rosters :p
-Imperial is not generalised for my taste, in fact, it sounds patriotic :p (there is also a STD called "Imperial")
-Navy and Army are more or less independant from eachother. A ship or squadron sharing the same name with an army unit would not cause confusion.

It's not on the actual rosters because the Immortal Guard is currently closed. For a full list of Guard units, see the RG site at: http://royalguard.empirereborn.net/about.html

Eight Guard units. Jag's the Praetor, Foley's the Burseg.

Something I would consider, but I am not the head honcho on this competition:

1.) We already had squadrons based on non-greek letters. Those suck. So please, stay with english. German is cool, but first of all, nearly all the examples of German in this thread are written wrong and second - it's lame. ;P

2.) Naming units or squadrons after Star Destroyers is also lame. :P

3.) Naming units or squadrons after stuff from other sci fi books (or other stories in general) is even more lame. :P

4.) Naming units or squadrons after stuff from earth, is the most lamest thing EVER. :P
