Announcing the new VSD Striker Website...!

Officers of the Empire:

I am happy to announce the release of the new holonet site of the VSD Striker! I've been developing it for a few weeks now and it's finally released the point where I can show the world.

The site features:

• Dynamically generated information, pulled from both striker files and the Empire's database;
• A fully featured administrative area capable of updating news, events, and standing orders (among other things) that are shown on the site;
• Full BBCode compliance with all major text areas; and
• Lots of other goodies that you'll have to look around to see.

This site, as many will be dismayed to hear, does not feature the Ping Pong application that was so popular with the Chimaera website I built. Oh well.

The site was coded fully in PHP and makes use of MySQL where appropriate. A good portion of the time spent developing the site was actually just to get the framework in, and it's something I'm reasonably proud of.

At this time the only page without content is the Captain's Office, because I have to talk to CL Calder and see what he wants.

I'm looking for constructive criticism, so if you have something to say, please do so, but do so nicely.

I want to publicly thank my first officer for putting together this site, which I think looks excellent. Despite the fact that I can't code a site to save my life, I recognize quality when I see it. I am very thankful that the powers that be deemed me worthy enough to have La Forge as my first officer once again. The good old days are coming back!

Well, as said on IRC: Resize!

Make the banner smaller, drop the font size and either drop the borders or make them a LOT smaller.

And drop the font. It's not really hard to change something like that. It's a matter of "replace all". Show us that you aren't lazy.

Oh - and the Motto is wrong. ;P

Vort: I changed the fron from Mistral to something that wasn't so rare; I'm told this font is standard on XP systems. And yes, the motto will be changed as soon as I can get a hold of Roche. EDIT: And actually, Vort, since I'm using CSS, it was a matter of changing one line.
