I wish they hadn't tweaked the game to death, especially with that change to the combat system. It really discouraged me from buying and playing it.

A cardinal rule, personally, is to not go anywhere near MMORPGs. Especially one that require a monthly/annual fee. I keep this strip bookmarked just for occasions like this:

That's why i like Guild wars so much. No monthly fee unlimited play. too bad it isn't star wars though.

Paying a monthly fee for a game get's you updates, new content, add-ons and constant servers. Something that most MMORPG-haters constantly forget. Since I play Lord of the Rings Online, I can tell you that within one year, the roughly doubled the size of the game. For free/for your monthly 9.99$.

Looking at current games, I rather pay that, than pay once, get a totally fucked game and 3 months between patches, without EVER getting a patch that actually fixes most problems (Oblivion/Silent Hunter/Gothic I, II, III anyone? I could make that list a LOT longer...)

Yeah, but did they add good updates to SWG?

And what problems in Oblivion aren't fixed? I haven't experienced any problems with the game, aside from playing it on a weak PC(1.7GHz, when it requires 2GHz as a minimum). It crashes - only if the CPU heatsink is clogged with dust, though.

SWG is getting alot better. the last 2 updates have taken really good and they are updating the proffesions with the Smuggler and spy getting a major overhaul.

Oblivions only problem is that your better off buying an xbox 360 and the game then trying tupgrade your PC enough to run it. It's cheaper anyways.

Burton: Consider yourself lucky. Last time I checked, there were over 1500 bugs not fixed - unless you installed the fan-made (!!) patch that takes care of most of these.

Korv: SWG might be fine if you join now, because it actually has quests. I've played the beta and the actual game a year after beta, but I never liked it. Too empty, too bugged, too nothing to do. Now it's more like "SW WOW-lite", but it's still too empty and cold for my taste.
