New GE newsletter to be compiled!

I have been authorized by FA Fel to compile a new edition of the GEâ€™s newsletter. I may seem like a strange person to undertake this, but I have had past experience compiling similar newsletters in another club. The deadline for submissions will be June 13. All submissions should be mailed to me at khadgar1@shaw.ca. Here are the sorts of submissions I am looking for:

Fictions - Especially stories related to your GE character or to the GE in general.
Graphics - Star Wars graphics, especially GE related ones.
Articles â€“ These can be written on a wide range of subjects. For example: Discussions of the Star Wars films, overviews or reviews of Star Wars gaming platforms, historical texts about the GE or the Star Wars universe, strategy texts, mission design tips, humorous articles, information about conventions or other happenings in the Star Wars community, etc. I am also interested in having someone write an article about OS II. Please mail me if youâ€™re interested.
Interviews â€“ I hope to see at least some interviews in the next GE newsletter. These can be conducted with active or retired GE members. Please mail me if youâ€™re interested in interviewing someone!

I intend to be flexible with submissions as long as they follow GE regulations and are in good taste. Please feel free to run any submission ideas by me.

These newsletters are produced infrequently, so this represents an opportunity for GE members to contribute writings and graphics to be published and stored on the GE domain. My hope is that we can produce a newsletter that can be enjoyed by GE members and hopefully even some people outside the GE.

Remember that Meritorious Contribution Commendations are awarded for each newsletter contribution up to a maximum of three times per officer per newsletter.

Here's a couple of suggestions primarily for members of the Imperial Army(but by all means, Navy members can do them too):

Write up a comparison of ground vehicles in use or used by Army forces. Obviously, it makes more sense to compare vehicles made for the same roles(for example, the AT-AT and A5 Juggernaut are both assault/troop-carrying units).

Another one is to analyse battles - what went wrong at Endor(beyond the obvious) or what went right on Hoth.

I'm happy to offer myself as a sounding board if you can find me on IRC or MSN.

Just some additional notes: Those contributing articles are free to include screenshots or other images within the article that they think are relevant to the content of the article.

I've found one person willing to conduct an interview, but I'm hoping to find two or three more people willing to help me conduct interviews. I'm willing to help create interview questions if needed. Please e-mail me if you're interested.

Another item: There's been some interest in having an article about Scimitar Squadron in the newsletter. At the moment we're most interested in having someone outside the squadron write the article, but anyone that is interested should contact me.

Updates: Some people have contacted me about conducting interviews, so we should be able to conduct all of the main interviews I'm interested in. However, if you're still interested in interviewing someone, let me know.

Someone has also offered to write a Scimitar Squadron article, so I don't need anyone else to mail me regarding that. However, I am still interested in having someone write an article about OS II (mentioned in my initial message) which will be important for the NL, so anyone interested in writing that should let me know.

I'm pleased with the responses I've gotten so far, so thanks to everyone that has offered their assistance.

Update: We should have a decent amount of interviews and articles for the NL (however, I am still looking for someone to write an OS II article if anyone is interested). Please make sure you keep me posted if you've promised to submit materials. Right now I'm particularly interested in receiving original fictions and graphics if possible.

Update: NL #10 has been compiled and submitted for final release. I will post a new thread when the NL has been officially approved and released.

Unfortunately, this also means that it is too late to have new submissions included in NL #10 if you have not already submitted them. However, feel free to submit any contributions for the future NL #11.
