Legion Dedicated Server

A legion server with good administration and recruiting possibilities would help our legion out.

Even if its a Dedicated server for the weeknds such has Friday Saterday Sunday. Would anyone Join the server if it was up? it would need people to make it populated.

kiles, donÂ´t you think that this clone-using is a bit stupid?!
besides, anybody seeÂ´s by the author name that you are posting twice!

i would realy recomend that you donÂ´t use clones i such a manner!
it makes things very confusing like:
wow, a server with 10 people who are playing on it, but that 10 are just 2 or 3 people with a bunch of clones.....realy good

These boards have a weird problem if you physically log in, where it will, but you're not logged in, and you have to log in again. Sort of. Using clones, it's best to have on the boards and not log out and mess up the auto-login.

Yes, I will admit that creating a dedicated server for our beloved Stormtrooper Legion sounds like an outstanding idea, but there is one drawback- money. Back when I used to be involved with clan leadership in the Half-Life modification Day of Defeat, paying for dedicated servers for our group became extremely difficult due to the required monthly fees for a good one. If the Star Wars games are a bit different in that respect, I apologize greatly, but my guess is the same process is used for obtaining dedicated servers; at least good ones that won't scare people away more than attract them.

If money is indeed a factor as I have predicted and you still want to go on with trying to get a dedicated server going, make sure you find the best service possible, and make sure you can either affort it yourself or that enough people within the GE are willing to contribute.

How come everybody comes up with dedicated servers, when I am away from my computers for a longer time? I could set up my older PIII dual machine (currently doing lame file server duties in our dorm) for that - we have a 5mbit line - but whenever I get reminded of the fact that I wanted to set up a dedicated gaming server (usually for IL2, though), I am not at home or have no time.

Vortagh yea thats what i was thinking. I oculd just use my extra p3 on a independant Cable Highspeed line and independant IP address just for the Server Game. Buying a
Server or Renting a Server from a host company seems like a good idea but i think that is bad for the money.
