Rogue One & Rank Plaques

I really enjoyed it but that notwithstanding what an abysmal mess it made of rank plaques. I realize they were taking cues from A New Hope but it seriously felt like they were all over the place, worse than it was in Jedi.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt that way :P

In Jedi everyone had the same rank plaque. :p

Lots of single-row RIPs. Still I enjoyed that one more than Force Awakens.

This is how they rationalized it in the visual companion:

Sector-specific design schema creates a hodgepoge of non-uniform markings.

I could understand that for militia groups but for the Republic Navy? Was the navy not a uniform body, particularly when it transitioned into its Imperial form? Such a cop-out :P
