Inter-club Training Event

Alrighty, well, it's apparent that the MP skirmishes with the RS went quite well this weekend (even the venerable Mr. Syrtaras agreed with that

). We came out on top by a large margin, and we had a good time, too. Since then, I've been looking at other avenues of MP skirmishing with other clubs. The best option right now is one I've actually known about for some time, and it looks like it'll be a good time.

The event is known as the Inter-club Training Event. Details are as follows:
ICTE
- Every Saturday
- 2-11 PM EST
- XWA, XvT, JK, JO, JA
- #Outerrim

As you can see, they meet every Saturday on IRC on the Undernet servers on the channel #outerrim. The nice part about this is the times... since it's 9 hours long, you can show up for as long as you want, when you want. And, of course, they play a wide varienty of platforms.

I'll be sending out an email to certain officers for distribution to the GE. I've gotten approval for us to participate in this from the SFO. I would like a reply from the fellow who organized it, but if I don't get one, then we'll just show up. I observed the channel last Saturday, and even flew a match with one of the guys there, and it should be alright.

This is the next big MP thing for the Empire. I expect anyone able to show up. Let's show everybody we're as good as we proved last week.

I encourage everyone to at least drop by and check this out.

With a weekly event like this, it will help to keep our officers sharp while I figure out what my next major project will be. I'm envisioning a massive wargame similiar to Purge Orus, but one that would also involve ground combat for the Imperial Army.

Great idea, but I can't do jack with my 56K that runs at around 42k

. It probably could last for a long time.

You could probably handle either GB or a 1v1 XWA match. I'd come and just give it a try.

Not really. One of our great aces flew all his combat missions using a 56k modem :p

LA also made sure that any connection, regardless how good it is, will run as if with 56k :p

Alrighty then.

In any event, I have personal bad news. I need to go away for the weekend for about 24 hours, starting relatively early Saturday morning and getting back Sunday around the same time. However, I still want all of you to show up and take part... I believe Admiral Polanski will be recieving records of our performance, so that should be an added bonus to work harder.

I should be present some of the day, so I will personally be keeping tabs on the performances of our pilots. I will certainly recommend rewards for anyone that does well.

I wound up not participating in the ICTE (chores, laundry, etc), but Sol and I got in a couple matches in #gevsrs before it started (popped in there just in case, and all three RS guys were there).
