Imperial Officers:

As part of my ongoing RL efforts to move further away from the U.S. Navy and further into the private (and therefore better paying) sector, I have taken a position aboard a cruise ship.

With that in mind, I will be on leave beginning this Saturday and continuing into the spring. It is possible I might have sporadic email access, but it is not something I would rely on.

During this time, Commander La Forge will have command of the Chimaera and anything that would normally be directed to me can be aimed at him.

Umm, pray tell what you're doing on a cruise ship? You're trying to do better than military pay? You know they own your soul, right?

I've been on a cruise. It can get pretty boring unless you know everything that's going on. My brother stayed in the room and watched movies most the time.

I'm an engineering officer and I have the reserve rank as an ensign in the US Navy. Trust me, anything pays better than that.

And even though from the crew standpoint a cruise ship is not very pleasant, I'll be making decent money. The key to remember is that I'm an officer not one of the dime a dozen flunkies (although 3rd Assistant Engineers are pretty common as the industry goes).

And for the record, I have no soul which they can own.
