KOTOR II Problem solving.

Ok, i bought KOTOR II and had a bit of trouble getting it to work. I would get as afar as creating my character and the Star Wars story thing would go up, then nothing, complete blank screen

I have a Rock Direct Quadra laptop, it has a Mobility 9700 in it. As far as i know this fix will only work for laptops with ATI Mobility cards, and know there is a lack of them here, but it may help someone anyway. This fix is not for nVidia cards.

I downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers (i know that they arent technically for my system) and a program called Mobility Modder (http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/)

I installed the Catalyst drivers, but because i didnt have the recquired card it stopped after extracting the files to an ATI folder (C:\ATI) this is required as far as i can see.

I then ran the Mobility Modder program, and it changed a few files. Be warned that some of these are in System32 and Windows folders, so there is a big chance of severe damage.

I started up KOTOR II again, and it ran fine. There was a brief screen that looked like it was crashed, but only lasted a split second.

I have had no problems getting it to work, but I think the first version is a bit on the buggy side.
There was one mission on Telos that I could not finish, allthough I *should* have been (I checked with three walkthrus) and on Nar Shaddaa it crashed several times, always in the same area, but without actually doing the same stuff! It was just random, sometimes while walking, sometimes while fighting and sometimes in the middle of a talk.

More bugs to report, I hope they release a patch soon (unless they already did and I am too blind to find it - a possibility when you are as old as I am, eh Steel & Syrt? :P):

XP: Whatever I kill, whereever I go, I get 300XP. Never more, never less. Zwib gets all sorts of XP.
Money: Zwib needed money, so I told her that she should sell her unused armor, cause it'll pay between 10-15k. Or so I thought, because that's what it did in my game. After my first stop at a merchant, selling all the unused armor I had, I came out with over 220k in my pockets. Zwib gets 300-500 per armor. :P
