Zwib, how does a Intro to GE Administration (or GE Administration I, whatever you like) course sound for the Academy? If it gets viewing, Admin usage might go up a bit.

What do you say?

Heh, I like it so much that I started coming up with questions for it last week.

Obviously you're a man of good taste, though, if we think so much alike.

Do you want to write it, or would you rather I did? We should chat about this some time and pass ideas back and forth. You probably know more about Admin than I do, anyway.

Me, a man of taste? Certainly.

I was thinking I could do the course work for it, if you wanted to do the exam. Since I essentially know how the entire thing works from the inside out (if I haven't written it, I've at least looked at it), I've probably got a better idea on what works and doesn't.

As a side note, I was thinking this would only include modules which one can access as a cadet/ensign/PFC... we can do a command level Admin course later. Best not to bunch it all up into one big course.

That sounds perfect. Be sure to include tidbits in the materials like, "This fantastically helpful feature was created entirely by the brilliant and charming La Forge, who selflessly sacrificed his weekend in order to serve the Empire with the implementation of desperately-needed feature."

Yeah, I think starting with an "Admininstration: Level 1 (Basic Access)" course sounds good, and we can add a command one later. Until then, I'll tell people with questions to ask you, since you have so much experience repairing the database.

This is going to be the introduction for the course materials.

But yes... okay, so I'll do the materials and you can create the exam. I'll get a course proposal to you if you want one; if not, I'll just start writing. This won't be as fun as OM (bah, nothing beats having written ten pages of trig work to double check the math you're seeing on the computer

), but I think I will enjoy it.

Nope, I don't. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get in touch with Orz to get answer keys or pending exams from him, so if anyone has anything they sumbitted to Orz, they should re-submit it to me so I can look it over. I'm not going to accept any exams like the T/I and T/A exams, though - I'm looking more for ones like the IRC courses and the Orbital Mechanics ones. They don't heva to be ad difficult as OM, but I want well-written and indepth background materials and an exam that requires more than simple cut-and-pasting. Not that I think I need to tell you that, Jagged, but just in general.

Oh, and when are you going to grade my IRC exam, hmm?
