Systems Force 2 and VSD Striker Report

Post by Calder »

Current Units:

VSD Striker: Line Captain Patrick Calder
FRG Chinook: Lieutenant Charles Baker
FRG Thunderbolt: Lieutenant Marcus Darkstar
FRG Tsunami: Lieutenant Eddard Stark

Introduction:

You may ask yourself “Why is a line captain writing a report entitled Systems Force 2?” The answer is that while my command is specifically the VSD Striker, it and its attached vessels, the three frigates listed above, are the entirety of SF2. As far as the Striker itself…well, that’s just me, and would make for a dull report. So, while I mean no disrespect to Commodore Wedge…he’s essentially along for the ride. And what a ride it is!

Current Status:

In a word: adequate. After taking over the Striker, I commissioned Mr. Roche to create a new banner, which he did. I then had him create a new banner for the Systems Force, which he also did. I am waiting, however, for the powers that be to update that. So that everyone can see it, the new banner is here on the report. For those of you who will read the transcript on the message-boards, sorry.

While we have had some AWOL officers on our frigates, I am satisfied with our current numbers, if not our activity.

Promotions, Demotions, and Transfers:

Now Ensign Max Reem stepped down from his position as captain of the Thunderbolt and was replaced by his XO, now Lieutenant Darkstar. Sub-Lieutenant Healr was promoted to serve as First Officer under LT Darkstar. On the Tsunami, Sub-Lieutenant Ryan Roche was promoted to First Officer by Lieutenant Stark. Ensign Paul Colestock was transferred to the FRG Tornado to serve under Lieutenant Drazhar.

The Frigates:

I have received a recent report from Lieutenant Stark of the Tsunami. I want reports from the other two post haste.

Systems Force 2 Activity and Projects:

LT Stark is running a motto competition on the Tsunami. I am in the initial stages of preparing a wargame: Supremacy 3. For those of you who participated in Supremacy 1 and 2, you know how much fun these are. I have already been assisted by SL Roche, who’s help has been invaluable. What I still need is the list of the capital ship and fighter costs that reflect their point values in XWA.

I would also ask anyone who can get the damned EaW map editor (specifically the space combat aspect of it) to work to get in touch with me. I haven’t decided yet which route to take for S3, but would both XWA and EaW available. In S1 and S2 there was no ground combat. I would like that to be reflected this time, so I would also appreciate feedback from the Army on what platform and setting they would prefer. I personally am leaning towards GB, since that’s easy enough to make a custom map for.

Final Thoughts:

Because I’m now captain of the Striker, and I have a tradition (however tainted and sordid) to live up to, I will award the following:

Sith of the Week (Good): SL Roche! Despite an initially rocky start, the Sub-Lieutenant has been very helpful to me with a couple of projects, doing exactly what I tell him. He doesn’t even complain (much).

Gungan of the Week (Bad): Since it’s the first report I won’t offend anyone specific just yet, so I will be more general: people that don’t do what I tell them. People that nag me. People that act like dumbasses on the message boards. Anyway, you know who you are.

That is all.
