I know we only have the TIE/Int and TIE/Adv courses and the mIRCs and orbital mechanics. as the Commandant has noted recently with me qualifying myself in everything when i get bored. To expand upon Army courses possibly. (since im bored and all)
With my experience commanding a JROTC unit. I was the deputy commander which is in charge of all co and extra curricular activites and their plans for the year.
So I have a pretty good idea on creating some courses maybe on the side of being a Army Officer for army things like the armored untis AT-ATs and all and I also have a basic grasp on US army tactics I did some studying and have books on it. I was reading the sticky from Vice Admiral Orzon for all that. And I also have some ideas for Advanced and Elite Certifications. I would follow the Vice Admirals approval processes and all if that is what the Commandant wants.
Better yet. create a assigned post called "ye who assigns things to Nexant when he gets bored" or start a forum of things that need done and ill be all over that sucker lol. seriously I just like helping out and the more options for things like that in my opinion the better chance we have for attracting people. when people have goals that they can meet for stuff like this then it usually keeps people happy and involved. but yes if it is okay for me to occupy myself with making some courses I will have my little fun.

First, if you want to create a course, that's awesome. I wrote OM, and I must say, it rocks.

To get going, just pick something you want to do and write a course proposal, sending it to Zwib. If you can find me on AIM, I can show you my OM course proposal, if you're looking for ideas.

Once you get that done, and if Zwib (and I think FA Polanski) approves, then you're free to begin! You'll need to check out the staff handbook, located on the Academy website, to get the full details of everything you need to create, but essentially it's just the course materials (a document which contains the info you want the students to learn, like a textbook), an exam created in the style of those on the site (I can help with this if need be), and the answer key for said exam.

Just remember that writing an exam is not an easy thing to do, and it takes hours and hours to come up with good materials and proper test questions. Still, it's a fun experience, so if you're up to it, I encourage you!

As for your "tell me to do stuff and I'll do it" thread: Make Captain Calder a banner and motto for his shipyard thing.

if you tell me what program you use to make banners im sure i can come up with something cant say itd be pretty since ive never made a banner before

I use Photoshop for my graphics stuff, but there's a free semi-equivalent called GIMP that can be downloaded online.

As for exams about the walkers, I've already done one, but it probably got lost with the staff changes in the Academy

Nexant: Yeah, Photoshop works good... I use Irfanview to use Adobe filters, and I love it. Just no M$ Paint.

and which walkers? ATATs or maybe i could do something like speederbikes or what about guns?? like exams on the stormtrooper rifle the scout sniper rifle thing i dont know the names yet the the Chip stormtrooper rocket launcher thing. i can try to dig up info on that. im sure its out there somewhere callign my name....lol

If you want to make one or more banners, please donâ€™t waste your time on that shipyard thing.. I am sure your unit or brigade could use one..

AT-AT, AT-ST and AT-PT, all in one exam. I found maybe two or three unique write-ups about each online, every site regurgitates the exact same paragraphs. Didn't have enough info to make each exam seperate. As far as I know, the other Army equipment is still available.

Here's the thing about the courses you are creating... while they're nice, they're not really useful. Sure, you might get into a SW-off one day and need to pull out some obscure piece of information about the AT-PT, but really... beyond the stuff already created, should exams really not focus on more useful things more?

This is technically Commodore Zwibble's department, but I believe we are not doing courses that are about specifications of any sort. A copy-paste exam is silly. An exam that tests you on a skill is much more useful.

According to the Academy site, supplemental exams are "based on the concept to further an officer's knowledge of the Star Wars universe. In addition, some courses may focus on real life knowledge that will be of assistance within the Empire Reborn." However, I'm more of the opinion that real-life knowledge should be the focus, with further Star Wars knowledge being the secondary goal. I've already re-drafted the description for the new site.

I'll work on coming up with a list of exams that I'd like to see, though of course everyone is encouraged to come up with their own ideas as well and send them to me. Don't be shy.

Every human has his own self-opinion...So I think that if we will add some
"Advanced Certification" courses, it will attracts more people in our warm company

because the people will have a goal, to which they can move, which will rocket up their self-opinion - records in their rosters.
So why don't we add this courses

? Maybe it will be smth. like Basic Cert. but with higher rank required.For ex., Commander instead of Lieutenant , or smth. else...
