Overview
Mysterious. Imposing in their blood-red robes and armour. Loyal beyond
question to the Empire. This is the Imperial Royal Guard...
The Royal Guard is not just a simple stormtrooper.
A Guardsman, dressed in blood red robes and armor, is selected for his skill,
intelligence and loyalty. The Royal Guard has been so secretive that its numbers
have been said to range from fifty to thousands. The Royal Guardsman are
fighters, assassins, and protectors, as those wish who command them. Wielding
the force pike, rumored as deadly as the blasters carried beneath the robes,
rumors appear that the upper echelons may have dark side power.
The Imperial Royal Guard is the elite force of the Imperial Army, which requires
skill assessment to join in the protection of the Emperor and the Supreme
Commander. The Royal Guard is a brotherhood of the hardest and mightiest
fighters within the Army, it is nothing less than an honor to be within its
ranks.
The Captain of the Royal Guard
The Royal Guard Captain is charged with the daily operations of the Imperial
Royal Guard, receiving a Army Command position. Within the Guard there are fifty
positions, forty-eight which are open to the stormtroopers of the Imperial Army.
The other two positions are permanent for the Army DivCom and Captain of the
Guard. Only the Army Commander and Supreme Commander have authority over the
Captain of the Guard.
Organization
The Royal Guard is organized into specific guard units of six guardsmen each,
and eight guard units total. Each guard is commanded by a guardsman holding the
title of Lieutenant of the Guard. All together there can be no more than eight
Lieutenants of the Guard. All eight guards are commanded by the Captain of the
Guard.
- Praetorian Guard, overseen by The Praetor.
- Varangian Guard overseen by The Varangor.
- Ghulam Guard overseen by The Ghula.
- Immortal Guard overseen by The Immortas.
- Jovian Guard overseen by The Jovius.
- Coldstream Guard overseen by The Footman.
- Sardaukar Guard overseen by The Burseg.
- Chrysanthian Guard overseen by The Chyrtsor.
Guard Leaders hold a part time position, as is all the positions within the Guard except Captain of the Guard. Guards are designated one through six.
Membership
To obtain membership, one must prove themselves
in all forms, through combat, activities, etc. You must be chosen by the Captain
of the Guard or the Army Commander. To become a full member, you must combat
against a designated guardsman, whether it be the Captain of the Guard or
another. Appointment to the Guard is not one to be taken lightly, nor is it an
easy task once you enter into the Royal Guard. A Guardsman must participate in
nearly every event, or risk expulsion from the Guard. Due to the strictness and
elitism of the Guard, it is highly looked upon by all stormtroopers.
Ranks
While the Royal Guard ranks have no official
authority within the Army, your achievements show from your rank earned within
the Guard. Only the Captain of the Guard is considered a true senior officer,
in addition to the Commander of the Army and the Supreme Commander.
Imperial Sovereign Protector (RG-ISP)
Imperial Sovereign Protectors are nothing short
of master warriors in combat, and wear a more baroque and ceremonial version of
the Royal Guard's red armour. This rank is reserved for the most exceptional
guardsmen, and may only be bestowed by the Supreme Commander or the Army
Commander... It is held by the Army Commander on an honorary basis, and is often
achieved by the Captain of the Royal Guard during his tenure. Excluding these
two men, there may be a maximum of three RG-ISPs within the Guard at any given
time.
Royal Guardsman of the First Echelon (RG-G1E)
A Royal Guardsman of the First Echelon is not
only an advanced warrior of RG-G2E caliber in combat, but also willing and able
to further the skills of lower-ranked guardsman in periodic online training. The
Captain of the Royal Guard will quickly achieve RG-G1E, and excluding him, there
may be a maximum of six RG-G1Es within the Guard at any given time. Appointments
to RG-G1E require the final approval of the Army Commander.
Royal Guardsman of the Second Echelon (RG-G2E)
Royal Guardsman of the Second Echelon is the
highest rank that reflects skill & experience alone, and shows its holders to be
some of the most advanced warriors present. The Captain of the Guard holds the
minimum rank of RG-G2E. Excluding the Captain, there may be a maximum of fiften
RG-G2Es within the Guard at any given time.
Royal Guardsman of the Third Echelon (RG-G3E)
When one becomes a Royal Guardsman of the Third
Echelon, it signifies that they have gained even further skill in combat, as
well as a respectable amount of experience in the Royal Guard. Guardsmen who
have demonstrated their prowess in combat and competition will most readily
achieve this rank.
Royal Guardsman of the Fourth Echelon (RG-G4E)
Royal Guardsman of the Fourth Echelon is the next step up from Guardsman Initiate. Guardsmen who
have demonstrated their prowess not only in training but in combat and
competition will most readily achieve this rank.
Royal Guardsman Initiate (RG-INI)
Guardsman Initiate is the introductory-level rank
of the Imperial Royal Guard, afforded to those whose skills are deemed worthy by
the Captain of the Royal Guard or Army Commander.
Guardsman Tyro (RG-TYRO)
A Guardsman Tyro is a prospective -- but not
rightful -- member of the Royal Guard. This rank is akin to a "cadet rank", as
it is used primarily for purposes of initial training. To become a Tyro, one
must face an appointed member of the Royal Guard in combat and b deemed as
having at least a moderate amount of skill. The Tyro must also provide proof
that he is willing to accept the challenges of the Guard by constant activity in
all scenarios. The skills of a Tyro will be enhanced and improved by the Captain
of the Royal Guard (or other high-ranking guardsmen) until the Tyro is ready for
initiation.
- or -
Deemed as having appropriate skill to be initiated into the Guard, despite that
all positions on the roster are filled. (Initiation takes place when a vacancy
arises.)
Within the Royal Guard, one does not simply hold
a rank but continually defends themselves in the rank. It is at the discretion
of the Captain of the Guard that one may ascend or descend in rank within the
Guard. The Captain of the Guard may determine the ranks of any members and
whether they have gained skill or began lacking such. This is supervised by the
Army Commander.
