Brief Synopsis
The Imperial Department of Military Research (IDMR) provides
de–classified technical information on galactic tools of war, and oversees the
development of new forms of Imperial military technology. Its HoloNet site is an
officer's first resource for background & technical information about Star Wars
technology (as it pertains to the GE universe), as well as information and/or
tools for "slicing" GE–supported game platforms.
The Imperial Department of Military Research is also the appointed
first level of review for all newly–proposed GE game modifications or "patches",
and may grant sound proposals "IDMR Approved" status in one of three
phases: Design (conceptual stage), Experimental (alpha/beta
development), or Prototype (stable release).
Any declassified prototype technologies at the IDMR's HoloNet site have been
declared stable for personal officer use & experimentation... After
receiving the required personal evaluation copy of a new prototype technology,
the Supreme Commander may elect to extend the Imperial
budget and escalate it to the production phase, which would see the
technology fully implemented into official GE operations.
Be it noted that while engaging in R&D, the staff of the IDMR typically
operates from the Imperial Production Laboratories: a group of
highly–secret labs built by the Empire for the research and development of new
technologies.
