The Galactic Empire's "primary method" of communication – e–mail – must be used for notification of all formal items of paperwork or news.
Upward Communication
Except in the area of private/personal inquiries, commanding officers
conducting formal business (especially roster update requests) with a high level
of command should carbon-copy interim levels of command (their own superiors),
as a courtesy to all involved.
Downward Communication
Division Commanders and Personnel Officers (see:
Division Commands) need maintain an e–mail
address book of all subordinate Unit Commanders... And, when responding to a
formal item of paperwork from a lower level of command, should strive to ensure
that all intermediate levels of command are carbon-copied.
GE Administration contains a Unit
E–mail function to provide a list of the officers in your unit. This function may
be used to gather your subordinates' e–mails.
Communication Distribution
Items of news & other information are regularly distributed to the membership
of the GE or major sections thereof... The following notes apply:
- The Supreme Commander shall forward communications
that need be distributed to the Empire as a whole to all "upper echelon"
commanders (including High Command and Division
Commands). Each DivCom need employ an internal policy that ensures the entirety
of their subordinates receive the communication. (The two most common methods
are forwarding down through the chain-of-command, and direct BCC to the entire
Division... If the chain-of-command is employed, each forwarder should BCC the
commander from which they received the communication, in order to ensure the
functionality of the chain.)
- Any communication that need be distributed to a major section of the Empire
should be submitted to the commander of that section for review & forwarding.
- Any communication that need be distributed to the GE as a whole should be
submitted to the Supreme Commander for review &
forwarding.
